I’m Jess Morrow, and I’m a poet, budding novelist, writing and language teacher, love of luscious languages and indulgent books, and barefoot piano-playing dreamer. I live, write, and study in and around the city of Detroit, Michigan. I curate the blog Invincible Summer, around which has grown a passionate, thriving tribe of women ready to reclaim their voices through writing. My mission is to help writers come to know, love, and appreciate their most profound soul-truths, using words as a map to guide the way.
My latest offering has just been released today! The creation of Invincible Summer: A Map to the Center of You has been a labor of love, its process a refreshing story of growth springing forth from the single seed of an idea.
Earlier this year, I decided that I wanted to facilitate an entirely new kind of online, creative writing group experience. So I created a course that contained six weeks’ worth of e-books and writing prompts, guiding women through a successive series of exercises designed to lead them to greater self-awareness and self-expression. I named the course Invincible Summer, just like my blog.
Because the course succeeded beyond my wildest dreams, I decided to make it available as a single digital, multimedia package, available for students to keep and work through at their own pace. The course materials work in precision to create a deeply transformative journey for the willing traveler.
This is a journey that challenges each writer to look courageously inward and backward at her life, and then to face forward and reclaim life with vigor, passion, and a renewed sense of self.
As you delve into this luscious journey, each week/chapter draws you into its particular theme:
- Silence
- From Silence into Sound
- Vision
- Listening
- Expansion
- Completion
If you are ready to step into your power, using words to change your world, then you can’t miss out on investing in this digital package, which includes:
98 PAGES of lessons, quotes, printables, articles, interviews, inspiration, and more!
Five video lessons created by me!
A sweet, meditative video lesson all about how to make a yoga rock sculpture, created by Joy Holland
An original set of guided meditations designed to move you into an intuitive, alpha state so that you can write from the depths of your truest self
All of the materials that were part of the original e-course “journey maps,” with the addition of updates to articles, new quotations, and more printables
Interviews with featured writers Jen Saunders, Claire Chilton Lopez, intuitive light healer Pip Miller, and a special contribution from creative career-coach extraordinaire Michelle Ward. (Trust me, you’ll want Michelle to help you light your fire—after writing your way to the truth of your life, the way you experience it, and yourself, it helps to gain a little practical insight into how you can apply this new self-knowledge to your life as a whole.)
Ready to take the leap, to re-define yourself as a writer, and to rewrite the story of your life?
I’m giving away one free copy of Invincible Summer: A Map to Center of You to one lucky reader of Grow Soul Beautiful. All you have to do is leave a comment here, telling us in a sentence or two how writing has changed, or could change, your life.

Since 4th grade, when I wrote my first short fiction story, to becoming a full-time journalist, writing has been at the center of my life. After adapting my voice to fit so many others, I’m loving the chance to dive back in and discover my own. This ebook seems like the perfect way to do that, especially as a yoga teacher, too!
Awesome! As an engineer, I always viewed writing as “not my thing”, but I’ve recently discovered how important it is & what a powerful tool it can be to get crystal clear about the thoughts in my head & the desires of my heart. Did you also see the post on Inspired Living? It’s a guided yoga journal- you might enjoy that too even though the giveaway is over. NAMASTE!
Writing has been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but I’ve never taken the steps to begin, I think writing could change my life by allowing me to open up more and be more creative.
Do it! I’d never thought of myself as a writer, but it’s been such a therapeutic thing for me to do! Actually putting words & ink to all my thoughts has helped me sort through them as well as get clarity about my dreams & goals.
Hi! I’ve been journaling for years and years, but not thinking of myself as a writer. As scary as it is, I think it’s about time for me to share my writing (and thus, myself) with others. Thanks for the opportunity to win this book!
Just like I tell people about photography, if you take pictures, you are a photographer. Maybe not a professional or published one, but YOU ARE A WRITER! Embrace that you can write for a variety of reasons & it never has to be shared or read by others, but the mere act of writing makes you a writer!
YES! That’s it exactly, Amanda.
Writing puts me in touch with something magical – an indescribable me that is my best self and also something beyond my understanding.
