Wow- what an amazing month it has been for our October Yoga Instagram Challenge! There are over 7,000 photos tagged with #yogaAday since we started & I’m blown away by the talented photographers & amazing yogi that we have met in the last few weeks.
From dogs to kids, around the world, costumes & pajamas, we’ve seen it all! But most importantly, we’ve seen yogi having fun- getting silly & imaginative, trying new & challenging poses, being brave in front of the camera, remembering that even one little pose a day goes a long way toward mindfulness & intention.
It’s been so much fun & I want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! My passion is to blend the beauty of yoga + the beauty of photography to encourage people to Grow Soul Beautiful, and I can’t think of a better way than using Instagram to have fun, get connected to other yogi, and be inspired by the beauty all around us.
There were so many wonderfully creative photos each day, it was difficult to choose a favorite to feature. We rounded up all our feature Instagram yogi & are showcasing them below.
November Instagram Yoga Challenge
We’re thrilled to be doing this again. We’ve made a few adjustments to the poses & you can get more detail on each day’s pose on the Yoga Instagram Challenge Page with daily poses.
We’ll be posting our favorites each day, but not limiting ourselves to one per day- there’s just too many beautiful yoga photos out there to share! We’ll continue to post the daily pose also on Instagram, but we’re going to be a little more relaxed about our schedule and timing this month to give us a breather.
Every day, simply check out that days asana & snap a photo of yourself in that pose. (Teamwork is always great!) Yoga & Photography together are such a powerful combination, and we hope this encourages others to do a little yoga every single day. At the end of the month, we’ll do a wrap-up post featuring our favorite yogis for each day throughout our November challenge.
How you can join:
- Follow @GrowSoulBeautiful on Instragram - We’ll be posting a daily reminder photo of each pose on our Instagram as well as Facebook.

Thank you for hosting such an awesome challenge! I plan to continue the fun through November. I love it! This by far was my favorite asana of the month.
Gorgeous shot- fall falling all around you. thanks for joining us for #yogaAday!
I was only cool enough to catch on towards the end, but this probably would have been my favorite – I LOVE me some Wheel pose! instagr.am/p/RZ0TCQrYM5/
Glad you joined us – hope you are doing well!
Thank you for making this challenge and featuring me and daughter for Day4! I am able to widen my perspective towards each poses, especially those new ones for me. My first favorite pose is tree pose. When I first started yoga, this pose helped me to open up my heart and reach out to God. It has a therapeutic and balancing effect on me. When I have my down moments, tree pose will surely be a part of my yoga sequence. http://instagram.com/p/Qgcnylgfx8/
You are so welcome- tree pose is so special to so many people & you capture a gorgeous sunset.
Grow soul beautiful thank you thank you and thank you!!! I am so happy you started this!!! I have been looking for something to do at home that would help with my increasing tight spin and hips…I always said Yoga…but never started! So towards the end of September I did a search for challenges and i cam across your, I think you had JUST posted the challenge but I am so glad I joined and soread the love with my followers! This challenge fulfilled my needs and wants and I gain so much more! The motivation from the pictures everyday are incredible and the people I connected with, priceless! I could not pick one picture so I did a collage of all 31 days! Each Asana opened up my back, hips and much more, my musles thank you! Can’t wait until November!

Thank you for hosting this challenge! I had an awesome time!
You are welcome- glad you enjoyed it. thanks for joining us for #yogaAday!
Wheel is one of my favorite poses, mostly because it’s one that required months of work. It was frustrating in the beginning, because this was a pose I could do — and did often — as a kid but now as an adult it was impossible. The fact that I also weighed over 250 lbs convinced me that it would stay impossible, but every time I went to my weekly Ashtanga class I at least *tried*. Then one day I felt the hum in my body and bones and I took a deep breath and popped right up.
Great shot- thanks for joining us for #yogaAday!
Thank you so much for such a fun challenge!! It was to incorporate more yoga into my every day and to come up with some interesting photos. This, by far, was my favorite from October. I love triangle pose and I loved this composition – shot from above and with the shapes created by the shadows.

Great angle looking down- Thanks for joining us for #yogaAday!
I chose this one because it was a really fun night out with my family. I also love any instagram photo that I have to get over embarrassment to take. Two little girls were giggling at me the whole time
I also adore the structure of that metro station. I am so not a yogi (just a class once a week), but I love learning the names of poses and seeing what I can do.
Beautiful shot- thanks for joining us for #yogaAday! Isn’t it fun to be silly sometimes & even have others think we are a bit crazy? PS if you do yoga, no matter how often, you ARE a yogi =) NAMASTE
This photo was my favorite because it shows the confidence I built over the month of October with the help of Grow Soul Beautiful!
The photo….
Fun & Creative shot- thanks for joining us for #yogaAday!
I chose this pose because though i am not the most flexible, i was really excited that after 4+ years i was able to do the Upward Bow!! It goes to show that anything is possible!!! Now i just got to keep it up!!
Great job- thanks for joining us for #yogaAday!
I really loved participating in the October Yoga A Day challenge. It pushed me to practice daily and taking photos of my practice helped me see and correct my alignment. It taught me a lot about my own practice. And I so looked forward to seeing everyone else’s photos. Thank you!
I love the last day challenge the most – Day 31- Sukhasana also known as easy pose. The picture was taken during my pilgrimage to India for Yoga, and throughout my years of practising yoga, I’ve learn to understand the importance of meditation for yoga as a clear, focused, empty of any thoughts and positive mind will make our yoga practices more meaningful and strong. Thank you Grow Soul Beautiful for organizing the October Yoga Challenge. It has definitely added some sparks to my practices and also reminded me that yoga is not about perfection. Having fun while practising yoga and spreading positive energy around while encouraging other yogis to challenge themselves more is the perfect way to channel yoga’s positive energy across the globe. Namaste, om shanti. ॐ
You are so welcome- thank YOU for joining us for #yogaAday! Such a fabulous shot
I enjoyed every day of this challenge. I am new to yoga and this has kept me on track. It’s been inspiring to see all the other photos. I am posting my half boat since it is a challenging pose for me.
Great job- thanks for joining us for #yogaAday!
This challenge was surprisingly fun. It was really enlightening to see how I could fit yoga into my life, even without my mat. I really loved this shot. It was taken in my parents’ driveway right before I got in the car to drive 200 miles home. The weather was perfect, and it was the first time I’d seen how much my downward dog had changed from being one of my most hated poses to one I get along with.
Glad you enjoyed it & thanks for joining us for #yogaAday!

This photo is my favorite memory of the whole month, in a random small town in Washington looking for adventure, yoga, and coffee <3 I loved finding new places to do the poses each day and it challenged my creativity! So excited for November!
Randomness is sometimes the best & most fun! Thanks for joining us for #yogaAday!
I loved this challenge. This one really inspired me to start studying yoga and incorporating it into my daily fitness routine. Here is my favorite photo from October. There’s nothing like a deep stretch after a hardcore workout. Thanks!
Thanks for joining us for #yogaAday!
I loved this challenge because it got me to start yoga again and inspired some friends to start it too (: this was my favorite picture because its a pose I used to do as a child before I knew what yoga was. Makes me feel like a kid again love the colors

Isn’t it great how children just instinctively know how to play around & mindless stretch their bodies. Thanks for joining us for #yogaAday!

thanks for joining us for #yogaAday & inviting friends along
I chose this one for a few reasons…I tend to be a perfectionist, but when I recently started yoga I naturally went into it with a state of surrender. Feeling good about being a student, drinking the knowledge, yet most importantly letting it go and enjoying every moment. Not focusing on my imperfections, and seeing the beauty and gifts in the now and what can happen when you let go. Also because my niece took this photo, and with my son, we all spent some time doing yoga. Which is also what yoga is about off the mat-sharing, love, compassion.
Yoga offers us so many lessons, especially beyond the physical. thanks for joining us for #yogaAday!
I love how many heart openers were featured as yoga pose of the day! I have been working on opening and balancing my anahata chakra and have noticed amazing changes this past month. What used to be my least favorite asanas, I now look forward to. There is such beauty in the backbends.

The whole of yoga is about opening the heart & mind- so I love when we come to physical poses that prompt us in that direction. That is a STUNNING photo! thanks for joining us for #yogaAday!
Thanks for this challenge! I really enjoyed it. This is my favorite photo because of the stunning fall colors and horizontal lines of the pose and dock.
I couldn’t get the photo I wanted to post to upload, so here is another favorite. In front of the Washington Monument!
sorry you had difficulty with the photo upload. Thanks for joining us for #yogaAday!
Hi! This pose/picture was my favorite because it captures yoga with my 2 year old son,
Dominic. Throughout this awesome challenge he actually tries to copy exactly
what I’m doing. So this was a chance to post one with both of us. This challenge
is amazing in so many ways… first, is to add yoga into my daily life, more
confidence, a way to bond more with friends while sometimes doing these
poses together, seeing what other yogis are doing and being inspired by them
every day and wanting to go farther and attempt harder poses. I love looking at a pose and thinking there is no way, and after practice I can do it! Thank you so much for the inspiration and the challenge!! Namaste!
Glad you are enjoying the instagram challenge so much. Adorable shot- thanks for joining us for #yogaAday!
I chose this photo because it’s a seemingly simple posture, but I have always had a difficult time finding alignment in it. But when you find your feet firmly rooted to the ground, a deep bend in the front knee, an upright torso and victorious arms above the head, it’s easy to see and feel the “warrior” in it.
This is the photo. Thank you Grow Soul Beautiful for challenging me to find new places to practice yoga as well as exercise my creativity
Tara and I had a lot of fun trying the #YogaADay challenge in October. So much so that we’re all signed up for our first yoga class that starts this week. One of the toughest and ultimately most rewarding parts of the challenge was doing the pose on camera and seeing my body photographed. I didn’t always like what I saw, and I didn’t always want to share the photo – but the challenge was about trying the new poses and finding something in it. And we did. One of my favorite photos of us from the month is Baddha Konasana in our hallway. It reflects the peace of the pose to me,. Thank you for the challenge and congrats on all its success!
I’m so glad you both joined us- I always looked forward to seeing how creative you two would get. Fun shot down the hallway- great lighting sets the mood.
thanks so much for hosting the photo challenge and this awesome giveaway
i like this picture because it’s on my balcony. it’s getting pretty cold now so days when i can practice outside are my favorites!
You are very welcome- thanks for joining us for #yogaAday! Getting outside for yoga is always rewarding.
I am choosing this famous Robert Indiana LOVE sculpture spot in Philadelphia as my favorite yoga photo from the October challenge. I not only think that this was an awesomely unique spot, but that the whole concept of yoga is about love. Loving yourself first. Loving others next. Loving your mind. Loving your body. Loving the world. Finding peace and love in the world. Loving and just being. Finding peace in the hate. Not letting anyone ever take your peace away. Finding love in nature. Finding love in everything around us. I know it sounds cliche, but it is seriously what life is all about. I love yoga so much, and to me it is so much deeper than just practicing asanas and seeing how far my body can go..it is about finding peace in being. Thank you Grow Soul Beautiful for this awesome challenge. I hope to be able to participate again! Namaste.
by the way, can people see the photo? I uploaded it, and I’m afraid it isn’t showing :/ I’ll try to upload again in this comment.
