Fast forward to today, I am a certified yoga instructor and professional photographer. Who saw that coming? Definitely not me! But I truly love what I do and wouldn’t have it any other way.
As a yogi, photography has been such a powerful tool in helping me improve my form and adding another dimension to my self-expression. I’m excited that I can now help other yogis do the same. In doing so, I thought I’d share some of my tips for achieving authentic yoga photos.
5 Tips for Authentic Photos:
- Hire a professional. I may be biased here, but professional photography makes a world of difference. Photographers understand light, angles, posing, and composition. to make you look your best!
Be yourself and keep it simple. Dress in neutral colors, with natural makeup and hair style.
Don’t always look straight at the camera. In fact, pretend the camera isn’t even there!
Warm up before your portrait session. This way you’ll be able to get deeper into the poses and avoid injuring yourself.
- Bring some music along and have fun with it!
